Resident 2005 - 2006

Horrible Place to live, Especially with Children

We just recently moved out of here. I thought it was going to be a great place to live. It seemed to have a nice community atmosphere, and they seemed to do a lot of activities with the residents. However, In the little more than a year we have lived here, there was two separate child molesting cases, a man taking pictures of the children in the bathrooms at the pool, a number of Arsons, and drug deals in the parking lot. The weekend I left one of the neighbor boys was telling me how he fell on a hypodermic needle, and it stuck in his elbow. Plus, there have been a number of calls regarding child abuse. The maintenance is half-assed when it is done at all. I can not count the number of times we have called to have something fixed, they look at it… say they will be back and then never are. When we moved out, they charged us to replace things that we had previously put work orders in for. Also as we were moving out, my roommate fell off a step that split while he was carrying a heavy box…. Which wouldn’t be so bad…except two weeks later it still had not been fixed?

The children are un-attended and bullies. Only a handful of parents will actually take responsibility for their children’s actions. One week after moving in my 7 year old son was kicked in the face by a 12 year old. He came home with a split lip and lose tooth. When I reported this to the apartment managers, they simply told me they have many complaints but aren’t willing to do anything about it. I was told to call the police. This seems silly considering what it was. However when it is the managers own children that are beating the other kids, and the parents call the police, or threaten to. The manager will freak on the tenant. (Though calling the police is the advice she hands out most often. Even over something stupid like a stray water balloon, hitting the concrete of a person’s porch)

People will tell the children to “F---Off”, call them -------s, and other profanities. Our Sons went through a period of time when they refused to go out and play because they were scared of the other kids, or adults around the area. It will seem like a great place, at first, the managers put on a great smile and parade around like they love the place. But after a while it loses its luster, so to speak. Be wary. Talk to the tenants, and makes sure the ones you are talking to are not related to a staff member. Ask around.
