UPDATED REVIEW: This is an update to my previous review of Orchard Ponte Apartments. I'd like to thank Karlee, Robert and Mike for hearing our concerns and working diligently to make huge improvements to our unit. Since we moved in, new carpet has been installed, the master bathroom doorframe was replaced, new closet doors were installed in the master and guest bedrooms, new vinyl flooring was installed in the master bath and the apartment was painted throughout. These improvements greatly changed the look and feel of our unit and we're very happy with the outcome. Management (Karlee) and maintenance (Robert and Mike) were very professional and courteous throughout the experience. They promised improvements and they delivered results -- good job!. We applaud Orchard Pointe Apartments and we're happy to have found an apartment complex that listens to its residents and responds to their needs. After moving 4 times in the past year, we didn't want to move again and we're happy that we don't have to. We plan to make Orchard Pointe Apartments our home for the next few years. In addition to our unit improvements, we're also happy with the complex overall. Orchard Pointe Apartments are centrally located to retail shops, and restaurants, public transportation; minutes from the highway; and just blocks from amazing views of the Cascades and Sinclair Inlet. It's quiet and feels safe. I would recommend Orchard Pointe Apartments to future residents. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DO NOT rent an apartment at Orchard Pointe unless you have had a chance to see the actual unit you will be moving into. The model apartment is beautiful, and it's what sold us on this place, but our actual unit is a filthy, disgusting mess. Management had at least 2 weeks to prepare the apartment for us, and very little was done to clean up this place. The carpet in our unit is disgusting. It's dirty, old, tattered and frayed, and I'm shocked that management felt it was appropriate to rent an apartment with such filthy carpet. They "cleaned" the carpet just hours before we moved in ... why did they wait so late? It still smells of chemicals, and every stain is visible (and there are many!). Our unit was not painted at all. Every apartment I've ever lived in has been repainted whenever a new tenant has moved in. The door frames are filthy and the doors are cheap and poorly constructed. Nothing was repainted. Most of the "wood" in the apartment is cheap particle board. I am so disappointed with this place and my stomach has been in knots ever since we moved in. It's the dirtiest unit we've ever moved into, and we've lived in many places. We brought all of these issues to management's attention the day after we moved in, and they've assured us that they will address all of our issues and concerns within the next few days. They were actually very nice about it, but I still can't help but feel duped and taken advantage of. They told us that maintenance has been short-staffed and that's why things fell through the cracks, but I'm really struggling with that excuse. I'm hoping to update this review at a later date with some positive news about the improvements made to our unit. We have been promised new carpet, doors, paint, and they even promised to bring a cleaning person back in to clean everything once the work is done. It's a huge inconvenience to have all these things done after the fact, as we've already occupied the space. Staff have been very kind to us, and I don't have a problem with them as people, I'm just disappointed with the way things were managed.
