Resident 2005 - 2008

A Resident For 3 Years Now

My wife and I moved to Jefferson Square in 2005. First off, the manager cares about her residents. My wife recently became wheelchair bound and we need to get into a wheelchair accessible apartment now after just resigning our lease. Crystal has bent over backwards to help us get what we need, even if that accessible apartment is in a different complex. She is working closely with us to either get us the apartment transfer we need or to let us out of our lease without penalty due to a disability. She is a very fair and understanding person who cares a lot about her residents and will do anything she can to make sure you have what you need. The maintenance is quick to respond and very knowledgable. They have a licensed electrician who can fix just about anything that goes wrong in your apartment. The staff at Jefferson Square gets an A . The rent is about average for this area of Seattle but the convienience is very much worth it. Neither my wife or I drive a car so living here has been a HUGE plus. Right downstairs is a 24 hour Safeway grocery store (with a Starbucks inside), Bartell drugs, a hair salon, a nail salon, a tobacco shop, a UPS store, a Taco Del Mar restaurant, a Subway restaurant, a chinese restaurant, just to name a few. Just about everything you need is right down an elevator. No paying for gas, lugging groceries into and out of the car. It's a perfect location! So in my review, location gets an A as well. For an extra $60.00 / month you get a parking spot in a secure parking garage below the complex. It's a touch steep but worth it considering your car is in a safe place, away from street traffic, rain, and not to mention, thieves. The apartment layouts are nice. Big bedrooms and Puget Sound views. We live on the roof of Safeway which has a beautiful European style courtyard with very nice cobblestone and a water fountain. The courtyard is very well maintained and very clean. We had a great view of the Sound for a long time until someone decided to build a condo across the street and blocked it all lol. Speaking of that, that condo is my only real gripe. They're building a condo on the west side of the complex across the street which makes for some daytime noise. This is NOT Jefferson Square's fault that someone decided to build a condo there so I'm not factoring that into my review but it is worth mentioning that if you get a west side apartment, expect daytime noise until around May when the condo is complete. The other sides of the complex is minimal noise however. Pets are allowed with a deposit which isn't much. We got both of our cats here with minimal cost. Overall, I've enjoyed living at Jefferson Square. The staff and management are wonderful, the location is superb, and the grounds / apartments are very nice. If you're looking for an apartment in West Seattle, give Crystal a call and look no further than Jefferson Square.
