Great U-District Apartments
I lived here when I was a graduate student at the University of Washington. Overall, it's probably one of the best places to live near UW. Pros: -Quality kitchen appliances (stove, microwave, dishwasher) -Overall, good quality construction -Washer and dryer in unit -Apartment clean upon move-in -Maintenance requests fulfilled very quickly -Office staff very friendly and helpful -Building located within walking distance of Safeway, Trader Joe's, Chipotle, etc. Cons: -Noisy neighbors. It was weird - generally people living on my floor were quiet, but the people in the apartment below me played music often and the bass would bleed through the floor. I talked to them a couple times about it before talking to the management. Management issued a warning to them, but I think they ignored it. And then those people moved out - only to be replaced by people who played music more often. I think I just had bad luck; like I said, the people on my floor were fine. -Safety. It's the U-District, not Bellevue. My car was broken into while parked in the underground gated garage. Just goes to show you that neither yourself nor your car are truly safe in the U-District. Overall: 4/5 If you need a place to live in the U-District, I highly recommend Helix and Ellipse. If you don't mind taking the bus to school, though, you might want to consider cheaper options in a safer area (e.g. Fremont).Share This Review
