Decent

This was an interesting place to live, very convenient in West Seattle, 2 miles off the W.S. Bridge but right on 35th so kind of noisy if you´re on the front side of the building. Some of the apartments facing 35th are pointed down toward the water, especially on the top 2 floors you could get a killer city or water view (not like you would on the beach but still extra-cool for what they cost.) On the ground floor you have a patio, some of them are really gigantic but on the back side of the building they´re shared and anybody can walk up to them from the alley by coming through a totally unsecured gate. Balconies vary in size but all are big enough for a table and some chairs, gas grills are OK and they´re all covered so you can hang out and watch the Seattle weather. On the top (fourth) floor some of the apartments have cathedral ceilings, those are really cool. There are even some one-bedrooms with the high ceilings and walk-in closets and extra storage off the balcony, but there isn´t extra storage for the two-bedrooms. I got to see a lot of the apartments there because I got to know a lot of my neighbors, there were some really cool people living there. A good blend of different types; some retired, some Art Institute students, some families, some young couples. Parking was free, then $15 a spot, now I think it´s $25 a spot but that´s not bad for an assigned spot in the semi-private garage. Especially for Seattle where some places charge $100 to $180 for a spot. The reason the garage is semi-private, lots of non-residents have garage door openers and the door breaks often anyway so cars do get broken into but that´s kinda what happens in Seattle. The super (Eric) was great when I was there, him and his wife were totally friendly and the rents didn´t go up very much when your lease expired. The worst parts were security and no washer-dryers but there are 7 laundry rooms with new machines so you can make do. Also they started charging for water and trash but there are no seperate meters so you pay for your neighbors water use (they just split the bill for all tenants so it doesn´t matter if you conserve.) Overall this place was good value, it really depends on who the on-site managers are though because the last ones weren´t that great, and charging rent for pets is bogus!!
