We used to joke that the "M" in the name is for "Murder", since former resident Dr. Louis Chen stabbed his partner here 177+ times before slicing their toddler's throat back in 2011. I can say my experience was at least better than that... I lived here for 6 years because I enjoy walking to work downtown. The first 3 years were great, but the following grew progressively worse, primarily due to staffing changes. The rent (high to begin with considering unit quality and proximity to section-8 housing and homeless tents) steadily increased ~$115/year, while what we got for that money declined. The quality of neighbors diminished as well. My beloved car was broken-into and later STOLEN from the "secure" garage ($225/month). The staff were completely unhelpful on both occasions, and failed to supply the police with video footage despite repeated requests over several weeks. (I guess they couldn't figure-out how to operate their tape recorder?) Noise is a problem; the walls are thin. One good thing about the place is the maintenance staff, which are a nice bunch of guys that have been there for years and are always responsive. I don't usually write reviews, but felt it worth warning you: your money is much better spent elsewhere.
