Overlook At Magnolia Apartments
Resident • 2009 - 2010 Not Recommended
I moved into the Overlook at Magnolia in June of 2009. My roommate and I loved the size of the apartment and that it had two bathrooms. Pet deposit was a bit hefty ($400 per pet), but they let us pay it in increments. After over a year of living here we are more than ready to move. First of all, some days we have to wait over 30 minutes to get hot water in the shower. We've called management about this on multiple occasions but they still don't know the problem or how to fix it. There have been days where I couldn't shower because I didn't want to take a cold shower. They have also shut off the water in the building without any warning on four different occasions, again, I couldn't take a shower. As other people have mentioned, the noise level is ridiculous. Even with my windows shut you can hear every single noise outside. The windows are very drafty and need to be replaced. Every morning I can hear my neighbor's alarm going off, and I can hear the downstairs neighbor's children screaming all the time. Yes, the place is pet friendly but I cannot even begin to count how many times I've stepped in dog poop while walking my dog. I understand this isn't management's problem but there is often poop on the sidewalk. Why can't people clean up after their dogs? The leasing office has a high turnover rate and they often know nothing about your building. I had to find my laundry room on my own. The dryers in our building sometimes don't work and won't even dry our clothes. Rent is cheap, but it doesn't include utilities or parking. Parking cost is $60 a month. Unless you want to pay that every month good luck finding street parking on a daily basis. We often have to park blocks away. Avoid this place like the plague.
