Overlook At Magnolia Apartments
Resident • 2012 - 2013 Not Recommended
I will admit that I was in love with my apartment when I moved in. The view was spectacular, the rent within budget, and I had more closets and storage space than any other apartment I have been in. Unfortunately, living here has been so unpleasant that I am now planning on moving, for multiple reasons: I have received apartment-billed utility bills on or after the day they are due. In one instance I received a late bill notice before my utility bill even arrived. The office has misplaced critical pieces of my paperwork regarding my renter's insurance, and gave me two weekend days to provide them with it before signing me up with their own insurance at my expense. On multiple occasions I have received two completely different, contradictory answers from the office staff. For example, one person said that my maintenance appointment was at a set time, while the other person said it was anytime in the afternoon. Since I needed to move several large pieces of furniture and render my apartment practically unlivable, this was a very important distinction. My bike was stolen from their locked bike storage unit. They did not inform the other tenants of the break in, and replaced the broken lock with an equally weak and insufficient one. They also promised to keep a log of people with keys to the bike room and then decided that it was too much work. In less than two years, I have experienced both a 5am wake-up from maintenance because our water-heater was leaking, and called maintenance at 3am about water coming into my apartment from above. I have also had maintenance visits to fix my stove, toilet, and blinds. The maintenance staff is very nice, however. I have seen the a lot. To add insult to injury, the last increase in my rent was ridiculously high. I would not recommend these apartments
