We lived in Rivendell for almost a year and a half. I was a student when I lived there, and although I agree with mostly everything written in the two previous reviews, I still feel like I wasted the money that I spent on that brand new apartment. Management will not care about anything you complain about. If the people above you are loud, good luck waiting for them to move out. If you even think about terminating your lease before the end date, be prepared to pay remaining months and months of rent. I showed/told them about a chip in the porcelain tub that must have been done during the construction, and I was still charged $80 for it upon move out because the turnover of management and lack of documentation by management. After I moved out I showed them a picture of the chip in the tub that was taken near my move in date (I took preventive measure). They still never refunded the $80.

We paid $60 a month for parking and our car was broken into 3 times in the supposedly secure garage, the garage opener was stolen three times during the break-ins. We filed police reports each time, and management was told by the police to change the security code in the garage, which they never did. On top of everything else, we had to pay for the opener 3 times ($60 per opener).

If you are ready to pay lots and lots for grief and no service, this would be a great place for you.

Pros:

Brand new apartment (but not really anymore)
Management will not bother you most of the time.
Unfortunately, it is still probably one of the nicest places to live in U-District.
