Resident 2007 - 2008

6/13/2008

Somtimes at night it's like a trailer park without the trailers. It's mostly the kids; they're noisy and leave their toys strewn across the sidewalk for days on end. Strange smells (including cigarette smoke) come in from outside when the windows are open. And one noisy neighbor that has really, really loud sex with her window open in the wee morning hours. Try going back to sleep after that. Then one night she threw all of his belongings out the window and the cops showed up for a couple of hours. Keep in mind that two of the buildings face each other about 30 feet apart, so if you're a fan of this type of behavior odds are that you'll get a front row seat. There's dog piss all over the new carpeting so you get to smell that every time you go upstairs. It's like someone just lets their dog soak the carpet every morning on the way out to the dog walk area. Management is aware of the problem but has not mitigated the cause. Parking spots are narrow. That is, except for two spots, one of which is reserved for management personnel. The price of my rent escalated more than 8% after 9 months when it was time to renew the lease. Over that 9 month period inflation was only about 3.5%. Little to no value was added to the apartment and the location did not become more lucrative. Management had gotten better (new property manager) and was at the office a little more than predecesor, however, this has recently changed and management is once again becoming scarce.
