A Great Choice

When I started looking for an apartment that would make my commute into Seattle easy, I wasn't sure what I would find. I stumbled across The Station in the fall of 2010, when they were still taking reservations for the building's opening in the spring of 2011. The thing I immediately appreciated was the choice of floorplans - I had several to choose from and ultimately I decided on a 1 bedroom den. Lots of room for my office and still plenty of living space for "non-office" stuff! The staff was(is) great (even prior to opening the building) by keeping in touch, and really helping me find the unit that would fit my needs (they showed me several units so I could figure out what I wanted.) When the building was opened, and I moved in, I really appreciated the quality of the building and the amenities. As the amenities became available (roof deck, media room, etc.) the office staff kept us informed and welcomed all of our feedback about what could be done next, etc. When I come home I'm always greeted warmly and my concerns are always taken seriously. They use the ActiveBuilding feature - which is great - I know before I get home that my dry cleaning is ready for pickup, that I got a UPS package, or whatever! I've lived here a year now, and seriously enjoy my commute to work becuase I'm literally steps away from Link Light Rail: I get to work in no time, if I need to get to the airport for travel I just hop on the train and go, and for events downtown (like the 4th of July) I can get in and out fast! (Oh, and if you have to use a car, getting to I-5 is pretty easy really, compared to some neighborhoods in N. Seattle) If you ditch your car, as I have, there are easy grocery store options available as well as the fact that AmazonFresh delivers to this building! Some people have complained about the security and/or rules and policies. That's unfortunate - If you really think about it, the policies are sound and reasonable - designed to protect the property and tenants. What some describe as an inconvenience I consider a benefit: frankly I don't want someone else who lives in the building "buzzing" in strangers and then not accompanying them to their unit. That is just asking for trouble. If you want to live in a big building with lots of features, have an easy commute, and feel like you are not just treated as 'unit X' then come try out this place. I'm starting my 2nd year and I think I made a wise choice.
