Before I moved in to Tower@801, I considered apartments with ratings over 50% only. At the time, in 2005, the rating was 60%. Now it is 24%. Essex bought the property in 2005. While current management is tackling long-standing issues, there is still an overriding emphasis on maximizing profit. It's a cool building but there are loads of issues needing attention that reduce the value of living there, especially given the load of rentals on the market now. Also, my experience is that they routinely ignore Seattle rental law, especially with honoring deadlines for return of deposits. Be careful! --former long-term tenant
