I originally lived in Cedar Creek Village when I moved to Spokane. I actually had a very positive experience there. Based on this, I moved to Cedar Chateau Estates 'B' in the Valley when my work transferred me there.
I wish I'd gone with another place. One of the managers made me very uncomfortable every time I talked to him. The other manager was borderline rude, particularly during the final walkthrough. The neighbors enjoyed doing their laundry at 2 am, so that was a fun place to sleep. I had once overpayed on my rent by $15. I never saw this money again. Not only did I not get my deposit back when I left, I was charged additional money. This was mostly for painting/supplies. The unit was not painted prior to my moving in. Being overcharged was particularly disheartening as I left the unit cleaner than when I moved in. Repairs were not made in a prompt fashion. The refrigerator leaked the whole time I lived there. I was not provided a garage opener when I asked for a replacement until my car was locked inside the garages when they decided to remove the keyed opening mechanisms. Any time I asked them to do anything it was put to me as a major inconvenience to them. When the rent was raised without a clear and believable reason, I decided it was time to find a home of my own. I am currently happily paying a mortgage which is only $100 more than what I payed in rent. This is for a home that is twice as large. I would highly suggest home ownership to anyone who has the means.
To sum up, I would stay away from Cedar Chateau Estates 'B'. I'm sure there has to be a place in Spokane Valley that provides a better, friendlier living environment.
