it was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
It's downtown, close to bus routes, close to UWT. Close to Tacoma Dome where there is always something happening... New appliances, dishwasher, w/d in every unit. Roof top access was a plus for us until they started limiting the hours to 9am - 10pm. Finally opened a cafe and imbibery downstairs in an empty space, great food and friendly people. Expensive for what it is, small apartments, NO AMENTITIES (No pool, No gym...) The YMCA is just down the block, gives a discount but isn't the cleanest enviroment... The management is strict on some rules and not on others. Garage parking is HORRIBLE. Very tight spots, you have to pay $70/mo to have a tag in your car, and yet they leave the garage door open all day, so even though you don't pay for parking you can still park in the garage, and if you are in the garage before they shut the gate, you are in for the night... The elevator has broken consistantly and you have to walk up the stairs, which isn't a problem for us, but for people who may have handicaps or other health problems it's bad. The elevator always stinks. They allow pets, but they don't make the tenants clean up after their furry friends, so sometimes there is urine and dog poop in the elevator. If you can get beyond the stinky elevator, crappy parking, and expensive rent, then the villaggio is a nice place to live. It served it's purpose as our first apartment while my husband and I commuted to and from seattle. It was nice to catch the bus and spend the day in Seattle, go to concerts at the Tacoma Dome... etc. (our $885 rent included $70 for parking and $25 for one pet)Share This Review
