Resident • 2008 - 2015
My husband, daughter and I moved here back in 2008. It was okay in the beginning, I do however agree that since the first day we moved in we could hear everything our neighbors did upstairs and downstairs. We heard toilets flush, doors being closed, the upstairs neighbors had a stairwell that led to their loft and every time they came downstairs it sounded like someone was pounding a metal pipe. It was annoying but there was a family upstairs and downstairs with children so obviously there was no wild parties at night. As those families moved out they were letting younger tenants move in, they had no respect for the hours of the night. I would call Metro Watch because that's who the manager told us to call because the noise complaints get filed in there record supposedly. It didn't matter how much we called nothing ever seemed to changed until they moved out. The appliances were the worst. The microwave was small and cheap, the stove would always stop working. One time one of the burners stopped working so I put in a work order which took them at least two days for them to finally come and fix it. When it was supposedly fixed I tried using it and it got so hot it started sparking and burned right through a pan I had. This was really upsetting since I had a small child and if we would have been near it we would have been burned. They still didn't want to replace the stove so we continued with this cycle of the burner going out and them fixing them. The neighbors seemed to get worse over time so we got fed up and moved out. They told us they wouldn't charge us for the paint because we had lived there for more than 5 years, but somehow we still got a 300 dollar charge for the paint. They also charged us with a cleaning fee although we left it spotless. We didn't want to deal with them so we just paid it and the last utility bill which was ridiculously expensive because we had started moving out in the beginning of the month to our new place and no one was there for the last weeks we had left on the contract. I don't recommend this place at all, everyone that has moved out of here that I know hated living here. The people in the office are always rude, the only nice person was an African American lady who was usually the one I would rather talk to. They had another lady there who was absolutely rude all the time, she was lazy and seemed like I was bothering her anytime I came in to bring in the rent or pick up a package. She once tried to tell me my package wasn't there and she didn't even look for it she just quickly glanced through them and I saw it clear in front of her face. The manager I have mixed feelings about. She was never too nice to me but seemed to be extra nice with my husband which I found a little disrespectful. Either way they left us with a bitter taste and we are glad to be done with them. Whatever you do, don't go their properties. All of them have a bad rep, my brother in law works for the Angelo properties and they are awesome. The maintenance guys are always on top of their work and the office staff is always friendly. They are a little more strict on credit but I guess that's why not low life's can move in to their properties.
