Nakoma Heights Apartments

I've lived at these apartments for a number of years because the location is near the beltline and it's easy to commut anywhere. Within the past 2 years it's really gone downhill. Since they've become section 42 housing a few years ago, they have apartment inspections VERY frequently to check housekeeping and to order things that need to be updated. This would be great if something would get fixed, but it doesn't. The management is rude when called to the carpet for not repairing something. The common areas only get cleaned if a rep from the mother company is coming. The parking lot maintenance is HORRIBLE. Don't expect to have it plowed after a snowstorm or the sidewalks de-iced. The only area that gets done is where the management resides. There is no 24 hour maintenance. The security cameras are a joke and most of the time the sidewalks and entrances outside are unlit and therefore unsafe. The laundry facilities are not in working order half the time. In my building there have been a few long tenured renters who've all gotten fed up and aren't renewing their lease. They treat the tenants who cause no problems and pay their rent on time like second class citizens. I laughed when I saw the review of how great this place is and that anyone who writes a disgruntled piece about them must have been evicted. ha! The apartments are large and that is the only good thing here. Renter Beware!!! Ask questions before moving in and make sure to get everything in writing, even then it's no guarantee!!!
