I've been living here for 2 years. One of my biggest problems is the wireless internet. Everyone that I haved talked to absolutely hates it. It works about 20% of the time even with a router and range booster on each floor. The entire system has to be reset all the time and I am continually told that someone is comming to fix it today. Because of this, some people have purchased their own internet service and am considering to do the same. Another problem is the landlord. There are two ladies running the show, Mary and Collene. Mary lies*, is lazy, and is a little crazy granted she lives onsight and oversees the 6 and 14 story buildings. Collene does her best and tries her best to make up for it. She's awesome.
*I live in the 14 story building and was told by Mary, last year, that if I moved down to the 6th floor, my rent would be reduced by $25. When I moved in on that floor, my rent went up $25. When I brought it up, she denied it. Apparentely I didn't have any of this in documentation form.
All right, some good things. The rent is about average (for an efficiency), maybe a little under. It is fully furnished (bed, desk, fridge, microwave, couch, chair, etc.). Wireless internet was a good concept, but it failed. Walls are pretty soundproof and the people who live in the building are all graduate students, so it's very quite, except for parties across the street. But overall, it's very quiet. The building is in the process of remodeling, and looks nice so far. The rec room in the basement was finished not too long ago with a huge hdtv, pool table, and a brand new double kitchen. There is also a fairly decent sized backyard with a pier. Overall, it's an ok place to live.
