The Statesider is a short walk to campus with a free city bus to ride to the far end of campus, students can make bus transfers throughout the city. There is no place for a car.

It’s located on State Street, there are many stores and ethnic restaurants near by. It's a very nice clean building with newer modern furniture. It has a very nice exercise room and good food downstairs in the building. There is a laundry and lounge on each floor.

People were friendly and outgoing, there are planned activities every month. When we first visited the building we were very impressed.

After moving in we found that the walls and doors were thin and you could hear everything going on. The building is often very noisy and loud making it hard to study and sleep at times.

There tends to be a lot of underage drinking, partying and pot around. We would smell pot that would seep into the room several times when we would visit. Most students are from out of state, many are rich kids from the East Coast with nice things, some with uppity attitudes.

Each floor has a person that supervises the floor, they are expected to work many hours and are on call through the night even though they are also students. The problem is management doesn't expect them to keep order like campus dorms.

If you want your son or daughter to experience challenges and peer pressure in a noisy environment that makes it hard to study and sleep, be tempted by drinking, partying, pot and experience a management that is more interested in running the business and keeping people happy than controlling situations this would be the apartment for you.
