We absolutely loved living in The Highlands. We've lived in apartments in Sussex, as well as Butler and The Highlands is by far the best place we've lived. The grounds are always really nice and clean. There's lots to do right on the grounds with Volleyball, a pool, a workout room, etc. Plenty of room to walk your pets. It's a very nice and quiet neighborhood, despite being right off Janesville Rd. Everything you could possibly need is within a 5 mile radius of the apartments too! We never had to go too far to get to the store, the movies, the gas station, post office, etc. The office personnel are friendly and helpful and respond to all requests very quickly. Our stove was being weird, it wasn't even fully broken, but it was starting to fail and rather than repair it, they replaced it with a brand new unit. Then a couple months later when the dishwasher started to go they replaced that too! They were so quick about it - I was very impressed. We were in an end unit and I could never hear any of my neighbors at all! We listen to movies really loud in our den (Kingston unit) and no one ever complained about noise so I guess they couldn't hear us much either. If we weren't buying our first house we would have stayed at Highlands for years to come! It's a little on the expensive side, but you really do get what you pay for!
