At first when you see the rental property you're very impressed with the grounds and the units. However, the tenant above us blasted his base, smoke marijuana and the smell of cigarette smoke fills our coat closet. I could literally hear when the tenant would move from one part of his unit to the other end. The walls are paper thin, you can hear dogs barking at all hours of the day. When I brought these issues up to the landlord, they stated they couldn't do anything about the tenants and their habits. One night, the tenant above was blasting music so loud, we called the local PD because the staff told us we had to. We could hear the PD knocking on their door for 5 minutes because the music was so loud. The staff were not helpful at all, and when we had three leaks in our unit they stated for me to call them if it happened again because they couldn't find the leak. I had to miss days of work until the leak was found or else the flooring would've been destroyed. The electric bills are very high, especially in the winter and very high if you run your Fire place. There is definitely a bug problem, the staff had our unit sprayed twice but nothing really helped. I spray my unit with Ortho Defense and I find dead bugs everywhere. I was told by an Orkan man that when units have spider issues, it usually means bug infestation. I have tried to get out of my unit, even sought legal counsel. Make sure you read your lease because it specifically states even if landlord is negligent, tenants cannot break their lease. These are not luxury apartments, but if you don't mind noise or bugs this will be a nice place.
