Timber Ridge Apartments
Resident · 2013 - 2015
Overall, I would recommend these apartments to any young couple who is looking for their last stop before they become home owners. As with anything, there are pros and cons. Pros: Dog friendly! Dog park on site, and they provide the bags and disposal areas for cleaning up after your dog. They also allow 2 dogs, unlimited weight limit. Maintenance has responded quickly, even when I called their emergency number on the weekend due to a leak in a pipe in the ceiling. Good amenities: pool, fitness center, dog park, beach volleyball, internet. Convenient location, right off the interstate, minutes away from Pick and Save and Walmart. For those outdoors people and those with dogs, there is a small county park with short hiking trails in it a quarter mile away, great place to run and walk your pet. Middle aged and younger tenants are pretty social. Management and office staff are easy to work with Parking is rarely an issue Small storage locker in laundry room for you to use Cons: Rude, elderly, neighbors. I have 2 large dogs and those with small dogs here are typically are older (60 and up) they tend to be rude to me and my dogs while they are at the park, and just rude in general. If you do not have pets, then do not live in a dog friendly building. I got a complaint about my dog from a neighbor who lives in a DOG FRIENDLY building, but has not dog. Can hear upstairs neighbor doing EVERYTHING! Maintenance has not fixed the hole in my ceiling from the leaking pipes A bit over priced for the size of the apartment. (I pay 680 for a one bedroom) Overall, I would not recommend this as your forever home, but as I stated previously, it's a great last stop to home ownership --Update....the apartments are very drafty in the winter, plastic coverings for the windows are a must to help keep your space warm. Also if your heat goes out, expect it to need to be fixed several times, look into a space heater for sure! ---UPDATE--- 3-10-2015 Unfortunately, there are a few more cons to add to the list of living at Timber Ridge. -Beware of unleashed dogs running around! There seems to be a lot of dog owners who feel they are above both the leash law and the leash rule in the lease. There is a designated dog area and some residents feel that they do not need to utilize that area and rather allow their dogs to run free in the large areas behind the apartments. -During the winter there are a lot of residents who do not clean up after their dogs -Be prepared to never be able to do laundry, or at least have to time it perfectly. There are a total of 6 machines in each building. In my building, for the last few months, only 1 of each work! There are times when you think a washer is working and it doesn't spin out your clothes (mind you I did NOT overload the washer, it was only about half full of light weight clothes) and dryers that tumble but don't warm up. There are a few notes from other residents stating that the machine doesn't work and the date they called about it. It's been over a month and they're still not fixed. -Also, as with most apartments, expect your rent to go up every year that you resign your lease.
