Resident 2017 - 2019

I lived at Ashworth Landing for about 2 years. I loved my 1 bd/1ba apartment and didn't have any major issues until moving out. In general, walls are thin and you can occasionally hear neighbors, especially the neighbors above you, but this is normal for apartment living. The pool was great and well kept. Despite the claims in some other reviews, I never once felt unsafe here (as a young woman living alone). Management was friendly and the only time I needed maintenance they were quick and efficient. When you move out, just know they are going to charge you for a painting fee and a cleaning fee. I left the apartment in excellent condition and followed the provided cleaning checklist. I also did not hang anything on my walls while there, to avoid damage or the need for patching the walls. They still took more than $150 out of my deposit for a cleaning fee (which is not specified in the lease) and about $120 to paint. In sum, if you can accept losing about half your security deposit no matter what, Ashworth Landing is a nice complex away from the "college town" vibe and one of the few… See More>

If you want your car broken into than this is the apartment complex for you ... also management just walks into apartments whenever they want. Went home for break and came back to papers about upcoming parking lot construction sitting on my counter so it was obvious they came in, pretty sure that's not even legal?

We had a great experience. Amanda the manager always messaged or called me back if there were any issues. Maintenance came immediately if there was a problem. The grounds keeper guy did a great job keeping the place looking nice. Only two complaints. The man below us smoked in his appt and ours smelled like cigarettes because of it. We had to buy two expensive air purifiers to be able to be okay in the place. And upon moving out I scrubbed the walls top to bottom only to find out they were gonna repaint anyways no matter what. So that was a little disappointing I could've saved myself the time and energy of that effort. Other than that super safe super comfortable place and staff is excellent.

I lived in Morgantown for 10 years and have dealt with both good and awful landlords. Ashworth Landing was BY FAR my favorite place to live. The apartments are very nice and very well maintained. Maintenance is fantastic and quick, and they only enter the apartment when requested or when notice is given. Amanda, the office manager, is extremely nice and easy to work with. If this goes to show how good the apartments are, she even lives here. I started here in a 1-bedroom and when it got too small because my boyfriend moved in, we stayed and rented out a 2-bedroom. The pool is kind of small for the complex, but it's well maintained and most other complexes don't have a pool at all. They added additional parking spots at the top of the hill. I have a full-sized car and had no problems fitting my car in any parking spot, so other people complaining may have just been bad at parking. The only reason we left is because we moved to a different state. If this management had complexes where we moved, I would have rented there in a heartbeat! HIGHLY recommend this complex!

I have lived in Ashworth Landing for a few years and the complex is comfortable and conveniently located not far from downtown Morgantown, the interstate, and Sabraton. Management keeps the area clean and are easy to get in touch with.

After searching all over Morgantown for an affordable, yet nice family oriented community, I choose Ashworth Landing and I could not be more pleased. My son and I love it here and he cannot wait for the pool to open this summer. It is quiet, I have a beautiful view from my balcony and my neighbors are extremely nice. My kitchen is very spacious with plenty of cabinet space and the apartments come with a washer/dryer, which is a huge plus!

As a graduate student, I was looking for affordable housing away from the "college kid" atmosphere and downtown area. Ashworth landing has been perfect! My one bedroom apartment is spacious, I have a huge walk-in closet, washer and dryer, and privacy balcony. The rent is only $635 per month, so very affordable for a graduate student. They also allow me to have my cat for a small monthly fee. I urge you to check this place out

The new management has no idea what is going on. They evicted good tenants for all the wrong reasons. They have no idea who pays rent, how much security deposit people have paid and the kind of people they are renting too. They are also trying to sue former tenants for basic maintenance they need to do to an apartment before they rent to a new tenant. It is NOT the tenants responsibility to paint, change light bulbs or filters in the oven. Its ridiculous. Needless to say I am looking for a new home.

My experience with Ashworth landing has just been plain awful! The new staff that was hired is extremely rude, maintince just shows up when it's convenient for them. Not to mention they come into your apartment with there master key. I've come across mangers breaching there lease trying to add new rules all the time. Parking is god awful, people parking without parking passes, taking up two spots. I've personally called Morgantown towing to fix the problem and 3 times they told me some body would come out and never did. The AC has broken down in my apartment 3 times they had 6+ maintince men in the apartment trying to fix it and never got fixed in the dog days of summer. Maintince also told other tenants that he can see me (female) naked through the window and told them I was nice view. In conclusion I'm giving Ashworth landing a one, becaus I feel invaded living there and maintince is awful, property mangers and Owners family.

Ive been living here for about a year and there definitely more cons to these apartments. First the parking HORRIBLE! Forst month I was here someone hit my car and left a huge dent/scrape down the whole side of my car and still I have no idea who did it. Also I got towed the first week I was here because Kristen forgot to give me my parking pass and refused to refund me. Also the pool is to overcrowded with ppl that don't even live here. I cant get in half the time because there are either to many ppl in this small pool or its dirty from dirty ppl that dont live here comin and swimming with their clothes on. When I first moved in my apartment was so dirty and I asked Kristen if the place would be cleaned beforw I moved in and was told yes I had to clean the apartment top to bottom when I moved in which was a pain in the butt on top of unpacking. I love dogs I have them myself but nobody picks up after their pets here you have maneuver over all the poop in the grass. And… See More>

If you move into the place make sure you get somebody's name other than Kristen Orbin as a contact, she should be the person that shows up really nice and shows you the apartment and takes your money. You can not find a physical address otherwise and you will need this as you go to County Magistrate Court to file against Wiser Development LLC, to get your deposit returned as we are going to do after 2 months plus of waiting. If you want anything done and would like to just have a general conversation on an adult level, do not call her. She will avoid your phone calls unless you leave a message stating you are a looking to rent. The parking is the worst. I have been late to work several times due to the fact I could literally NOT get in either door of my car. A few things our air conditioning went out in the middle of the summer. It was unbearable and as normal we did not get any return calls. As we were moving out a few people were upset about the situation there that they wrote a note to her about the issues… See More>

This place defiantly has more cons then pros. It is a pet friendly complex and in a great location with easy accesses to downtown Morgantown and the interstate. However, parking is a nightmare, the management staff is non-existent, and the complex is not safe. The parking spaces are extremely narrow not allowing enough space for normal sized cars let alone the big trucks and SUVs that people drive. Many of the larger vehicles started parking in the guest lot in order to have enough space. This left few spaces for guest parking leading to many people being towed. Also, designated parking areas are not marked making guest parking extremely confusing. Also, the towing company that had been hired to police the lot was a little over zealous. Individuals were towed out of areas that have been designated by management as open parking. Obviously, management refuses to reimburse residents that have been wrongly towed. I never saw or spoke to a member of management or maintenance other than signing my lease agreement. And I did all of my paperwork via email! Many people in the complex do not clean up after their pets. And may people pile garbage outside of… See More>

I moved here looking for a one-bedroom, but only a two-bedroom sublease was available. They are allowing me to rent the two-bedroom until another one-bedroom with pet allowance is available. I have found the amenities inside to be incredibly nice and well-kept, the kitchen space is excellent (the island is a huge bonus for counter and cabinet space), and have only had issues with my A/C not properly putting out air. I like the pool amenities - although crowded on weekends, they are well-kept, and the tenants seem to be pretty friendly. I live on the top floor, but I have not had any issues with noise complaints or neighbors. I do feel that the parking spots are a bit tight and crowded, but this seems to be an issue in all of Morgantown. All in all, its a very quiet neighborhood, set away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown, with very quick access to the interstate and classes. I would recommend this complex to anyone in graduate school, or who works and has a small family. I will certainly be renewing my lease.

Cons: Parking, Pool, Some Tenants. Pros: Beautiful Complex, Great Location

I've been living here over a year now and there are indeed pros and cons to living in this apartment complex. It is a dog friendly apartment complex that allows dogs, which I love because I have a golden that I couldn't live without. I do wish that they had a dog station bags where you could take a bag and dispose of when needed. My other complex had it and the tenants seemed to pick up after their dogs so much better than they do here (not the fault of the complex). The parking is a problem. They had parking stickers for your car which is great and guest parking in the lower lot, however the stalls are extremely tight. I have gotten so many door dings and had my side mirrors hit twice to the point I had to get them replaced. Something major that I think needs improved is the application process to get into an apartment here. This is the only apartment complex that I have moved into that didn't do a background check on people. I have seen major fights and consident screaming in the parking lots to the point cops are called and an… See More>

Pros: Nice Layout and Location Cons: False Advertisiment, Uneducated Staff

My fiance and I moved to Ashworth Landing a couple years ago. The location and apartment layout is great. We love the wood floors and vaulted ceilings and the fact that we can walk our dog around the complex with ease. However, there are a few draw backs to living in this complex. We were told that this complex had free wireless internet (a factor of our decision to move here), however the wireless internet has never worked in our apartment except if we sit in the corner by the front doorway and after several attempts to contact the property manager and no response, we had to call comcast and purchase internet. Another problem that we had was the unannouced visits. Every so often we would come home from work to see a note on our table saying that "pest control was here", I guess something that they do every three months or so which would have been fine if they would have let us know. The aparment complex that I lived before always let us know when scheduled visits where going to be done with at least 24 hours notice whether it be via email or posted on everyone's… See More>

I just moved in about four months ago and I have to say that the location is in a perfect location. The patio is something nice to sit out and relax in and the apartment itself is nice for the price. However the biggest problems I have so far are the noise and the management staff in general. I can hear everything below and above my apartment...from phone conversation, television station, and alarm clocks. The tenants aren't loud, I believe it is as simple as the buildings were not build with the quality to keep average sounds from coming into other apartment units. As for as the management staff, well lets just say that it takes them awhile if ever to responsed to maintenance request. I email my first month here with a maintenance request in regards to the patio door. Didn't here back, so a couple weeks later followed up with a phone call. No response back, so followed up with another phone call. Four months later and still no one has come in to fix the problem, nor responsed to my email or phone calls. I understand that people get busy, however the property management should response within… See More>

Best and Worst Place I've ever lived.

I loved the apartment and location. I lived on the top floor and the hardwood floors and vaulted ceiling were very nice additions. Easily the nicest apartment I have lived in the 5 years I've lived in Morgantown and the price is definitely worth the money. The only HUGE problem I have is with the staff. The people who own Ashworth Landing own at least 3 other rental properities in Morgantown and yet they have only 1 person working in the office. Nevertheless, I had every intention of living here again, but when I contacted the property manager to send me a lease agreement that started in August so I could re-sign, two months had gone by and I heard nothing. I contacted the office again and I received a lease that started in May. I responded back and told the manager again I needed a lease in August. Another two months went by and I still had heard nothing. After contacting the manager yet again, I was sent a lease that started in June. Another 6 months and I would have gotten what I need. It was then that I decided to live elsewhere. I know that managing all… See More>

I am just going to give a list of the reasons why this place seems nice for the price but really isn't. First off, awhile back, the outside fire alarm went off for hours, yes, hours before one of the tennants had to call the fire department. Come to find out that the owners never registered the building with the fire department. I still do not know if they have done this. This basically means that if there is a fire, the alarm goes off at 3am...no one will be there to help or put it out. I don't even have to go into the legalities as to why this is completely messed up. Those are a lot of lawsuits waiting to happen when/if a fire occurred and people are hurt/dead. I am surprised no one called DHHR to report it. Second of all, this building is a death trap with the horrible and half hazard wiring. When we first moved in, our smoke detector would go off every time we turned the bedroom TV on. And the electrician was confused as to how that happened. Hmmmm After attempting to fix the problem 3 times, it was finally resolved. After… See More>

I moved in b/c of the new building and the nice floor plan. Everything else sucks. The Parking is WAY TOO tight. It is hard to get in and out of spaces. The stairs have been being "worked on" for months now (they quit working a couple weeks ago and left a dangerous mess ). There is no internet like they say, the pool is still not open and hasnt been yet. The tub won't hold water for a shower. When attempts are made to get things sorted out, there is no apologies (or even explanations sometimes) just that it is "being taken care of soon".

These apartments may look nice but I'd rather have some other characteristics

Yes, they are new. The hardwood floors are nice. The kitchen island is a plus. The ceramic floors in the bathrooms are nice. But.... The parking is horrible -- the spaces are small and you do three and five point turns to get in and out. You can barely walk between the cars. And it's next to impossible to carry any packages between two cars. It's no wonder that our car doors and bumpers are dinged and scraped and dented and scratched! The overhead noise is atrocious. I hear every footstep (even in the bedroom where it is carpeted!), opening and closing of doors and drawers, every urination, every bedspring squeak and associated sounds. I even know when my upstairs neighbors are cooking because I hear them chopping on the island! I think that if I tried, I could probably hear their actual conversations! And I can hear them coming before they even put the key in the lock! The appliances are not energy efficient -- just look at the labels on the hot water heated and the air conditioner! You're paying for that in higher electric bills. Have you looked at what will be the swimming pool for the entire complex? When… See More>

Very nice, new, hardwood floors, washer, dryer, dishwasher, pet friendly...overall it is a great place with a few problems like parking and noise from other tennants. But, knowing how most apartments in Morgantown are, i.e. the overpriced "student slums", this place is well above par for the course.

I live at Ashworth Landing and I have to say that the apartments are very very nice. In fact they are some of the best, especially for the price, in the city of Morgantown. The floors in the living room and kitchen are hardwood so there is occasional noise from the tenants above but I think that is probably to be expected of anywhere. The outside of the apartments are very well kept and the staff is very efficient when it comes to snow removal. The only complaint is the parking spaces. They seem small in the lower lot, but I live in the upper building and I do not have a problem at all. Plus there are not parking passes that I have to adhere to my car so I don't have to worry about horrible tow companies and I can always find a place to park for me and any guests. I am going to renew my lease and I recommend the complex to anyone that is looking for a nice quiet place to live. Neverlived in before - spotless! That's about the good there is. First and foremost I plan on moving very soon because of everything else. I've lived here less than 3 months and already filed multiple noise complaints with no results. You can hear everything from the people above at all hours of the day and night even as simple as walking which can sound like they're in your apartment and not theirs. They keep saying they are calling to rectify and I've seen no fixes at all and actually are becoming worse. Parking is terrible. The spots are so ridiculously narrow that anything larger than a small suv or mid-size car crowds up the enitre spot. A: Yes and no? I lived in two different apartments in this complex. If the people who lived above me were loud, then yes I could hear them. In particular, one family that had toddlers and one family that had a dog with a bone he liked to throw around because the living room and kitchen floors are wood. However, I couldn't really ever hear the people next to or below me. The last apartment I had, the people to the left of me had a newborn, and I could barely hear that baby cry, and that was a rare occasion. I was frankly impressed by that.
