Resident 2014 - 2016

3/15/2016

I lived in Glenlock North while my boyfriend lived in Glenlock South, so I have a review for both. Both are very basic apartments but they are super convenient to downtown - takes me 10 minutes to walk to Clark Hall. Parking has been free until leases starting in May 2016, they advertise that they will be charging a monthly fee for parking. No pets. Sometimes both buildings get a little loud on the weekends, but it's expected living in a college town so close to downtown. The WORST parts about living in either of these buildings and the best advice I could give, DO NOT live in either building in an apartment that faces the direction of the dumpster. The garbage people have been coming between 4 AM AND 6:30 AM EVERY SINGLE DAY. I'm woken up EVERY SINGLE DAY during that time. So if you want to pay a pretty penny for living close to downtown for convenience without anything special about the apartment, don't choose an apartment that faces the dirt walk way between the two buildings. The sound literally of the dumpster crashing to the ground travels down there like the world is being invaded every… See More>

    Resident 2013

    11/17/2013

This place is disgusting weekly there's uncleaned up throw up everywhere the staff could care less about how clean this place is they come by once in a while with a leaf blower to clean. This place is awful, if you only care about location then this is the place for you but if you like a clean apartment complex LOOK ELSEWHERE.The laundry facility is terrible the dryers never completely dry your clothes and the place is nasty. The actual apartments themselves are okay nothing special and the rates for downtown are pretty reasonable but remember THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!!

        Do NOT Choose Glenlock North

I had an awful experience living in Glenlock North. As a student the location is great because how close it is to campus, but awful on all other accounts. Firstly the people that choose to live here are typically rowdy, disrespectful, and obnoxious. There is constant partying, theft, and damage. My truck got broken into in my own parking lot and the management would do nothing, the cops couldn't get any surveilance video (and there are cameras). The parking is horrible as well. My vehicle was hit twice and my boyfriends vehicle was hit by the towing truck. People fly through the tiny street recklessly and there is ALWAYS some kind of debris in the road. Laundry is a nightmare as well. Secondly, there are NO chains or latches that you can lock yourself into your apartment with on the doors, so people with keys can come and go as they please. After notifying them that I WAS NOT renewing my lease they keyed into my apartment on multiple accounts for months...without any notice whatsoever. I worked during Christmas break and the maintenance people came into my apartment and messed with my things without warning including the thermostat which they said… See More>

          Glenlock North: Awful.

They show you apartments while tenants are still living there. The tenant is never notified if a visitor is coming . ( I stated that I would be moving out and they are now brining random strangers into my apartment while I am there and Even if I am not there. ) There is no temperature control because utilities are included in rent and they don't want to spend much on electricity or gas due to thermostat change. In the summer its freezing and in the Winter your living room is boiling. In the winter the side walks are not salted properly. At night there is alot of noise especially Thursdays - Sunday becuase WVU is a party school so opening your window is not always the best solution to the temperature problem The hallways are Dark all the time. The hallways are narrow and the walls are made of dirty brick. This decor makes you feel like you are living in a prison. The apartment doors are 2-3 inches off the floor so bugs are always welcome to crawl right under your door or you can see peoples feet outside and they can see under your door… See More>

            Don't rent from Metro Properties

This apartment may look nice when you visit it but do not be fooled. They come into your apartment when you are not there just to give you a paper they can just slip under the door. When you move out, do not expect to get your entire security deposit back even if you return the apartment like you were given it. They took almost two hundred dollars from my deposit for painting because they said I had a pencil mark on the wall and they needed to paint over it. They also charged me about $65 for cleaning because they said I left my fingerprint on the doorknob. I always had problems with my A/C and when I complained about it after it not working for 2 weeks, in the middle of July, they told me it was not written in my lease that they had to provide A/C.
